Brera Eyewear presents the first eyewear collection born from the designs of Alessandro Mendini, architect and designer symbol of the city of Milan and of that elegant and unmistakable design that has distinguished him in all his works and developed by Alex Mocika, the backbone of Atelier Mendini.

Alessandro Mendini used to work drawing, pen in hand every day, always drawing, without interruption. In his life he has designed a great variety of objects, small and large, useful and less useful, normal and wonderful, often poetic.

When he drew a pair of glasses on the face of one of his characters, or placed on a bedside table, he always represented them in the same way, like round glasses: two small circles. Maybe it was his way of representing glasses in a universal way as if they were the very essence of his shape or maybe it was just a coincidence.

The glasses designed by Alessandro Mendini for Brera can now be worn and who knows, perhaps recognize yourself as an architect, a bit designer, a bit harlequin and also a bit poet.

Vedere, guardare, osservare, scrutare: con cosa se non con un bel paio di occhiali? […] Li indosso da tanto tempo, ne ho vari modelli, sono contento di questa maschera protettiva per il mio viso.
